Licence limits:
- Use: The use of your image. Typically stated in a contract or agreement but also the possibility of future uses. State on your licencing that futher use of your image will require an additional further fee.
- Duration: Period of time your image will be used for. Varies on what the subject matter or intention of the image is (i.e. book illustrations)
- Exclusivity: Only in terms of the licence is this exclusive. Should a client wish for your image to never be used by anyone else this needs to be added as an additional licence. There can be additional licences on the image.
- Circulation: International Circulation, Internal Circulation, National Circulation and Low Circulation. Categories for the territorial circulation generally are: UK, Europe, USA, World and each will have a different fee.
Pricing:
- Book Covers: £400-£1,000 (selling potential dependant)
- Educational Books: £300-£500 (per double page spread)
- Children's Books: £3,000-£5,000 (paid with royalties or advance)
- CD/Record/Album Covers: £400-£1,000 (genre dependant)
- Brochures: Cover: £400-£1,200 (size/run dependant) Inside: £250-£1,000
- Greetings Cards: £150-£250 (per design)
- Advertising: 1/4 page black and white: £600, Full-page: £1,000-£2,500 (client dependant)
- Re-use Fee: Discounted rate of original fee
- Rejection Fee: Roughs: 25% Finals: 50%
- Rejected Images: 50% (equal blame between client and artist)
